The Temecula Valley is located in the southwest corner of Riverside County, 85 miles south of Los Angeles and 60 miles north of San Diego. The communities of Lake Elsinore, Fallbrook, Hemet, Moreno Valley and Riverside are within close proximity. The Valley is bordered on the west by Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base and the
Cleveland National Forest. Elevations range from 1,980 feet near the eastern boundaries to 2,600 feet on the west. The weather is comparable to the Napa Valley, evidenced by a growing wine industry, with warm dry days and ocean breeze-cooled evenings. Although separated from the Pacific by the Santa Rosa range, the Rainbow Gap funnels the mild beach climate into the Valley. Average summer highs are 85 , with winter low temperatures of 39 degrees.
The quality of air in the Temecula Valley is consistently better than in surrounding communities and other parts of western Riverside County. Ocean breezes flowthrough Rainbow Gap almost daily, sweeping away smog and moderating temperatures. In the summer, the cool Pacific winds bring temperatures up to 10 degrees lower than in Sun City or Lake Elsinore - only 12 to 15 miles away.
Today the area can boast excellent major shopping centers, with more expected to begin construction shortly. Clean industrial parks offer rapidly expanding employment opportunities. A wide selection of restaurants are in place with more on the way. The Temecula Valley Unified School District serves the students of Temecula with two high schools, three middle schools, and six elementary schools.

The community has three multi-screen movie theaters, new car dealerships, a state of the art Community Recreation Center, Sports Park, and two hospitals within seven short miles of Temecula. Many professional buildings housing doctors, attorneys, accountants, and others benefit the residents of Temecula. The French Valley Airport was designed to accommodate business jets and commuter sized airlines and is located 4 miles north of I-15 on Winchester Road.
The rate of growth experienced by the Temecula Valley has "gone through the roof". The freeway provides a high volume traffic corridor and easy links with San Diego, Orange County, Riverside, and Los Angeles. Indeed, the central location between these urban centers makes it ideal for manufacturing and distributing industrial and consumer products throughout Southern California.
Because of location, scenic beauty, opportunity, and lifestyle, as well as all the other reasons people have for wanting to live here, the Temecula Valley promises to continue to be one of the fastest growing areas in the United States
