| The community of Canyon Lake began to form in 1968. The Canyon Lake master plan provides many benefits to the individual property owner. The private, guard-gated community follows the shape of the lake...allowing the homes to be near the water. Cul-de-sac streets and curving roads are aesthetically pleasing, and they control vehicle speed. All homes within the community are custom homes, and must pass the architectural review board to ensure the integrity of the area. For additional safety, and noise reduction, motorcycles are not allowed inside the entry gates of Canyon Lake. The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association owns and operates the lodge, swimming pool, tennis courts, seven beaches, seven parks, parking lots, golf course, a 10-acre equestrian center, community patrol services, and common dock areas. There's also a private campground for the exclusive use of owners and their guests (the campground also serves as the site for the fireworks extravaganza). |

THE LAKE - Canyon Lake itself has about 15 miles of shoreline and is approximately 383 acres. The lake provides a beautiful setting for boating, fishing and water skiing for Canyon Lake residents and their guests only. There is also a separate slalom course for more advanced water skiers.
Our lovely lake is surrounded by a private community with property available for individual ownership - - - yet within convenient driving distance to Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties. The climate is ideally suited for the pursuit of many kinds of recreation.
HORSE FACILITIES - In 1994, the horse facilities were upgraded to provide better use for equestrians. This facility has pipe stalls, arenas with lighting, and a huge barn with a second wall to ensure that the horses are not spooked by noise. About 10 acres of riding trails are available.
GOLF - The private championship 18 hole golf course is maintained and upgraded throughout the year. The course is a par 71, 5,868 yard course. The 75-acre course is lined with trees and has trimmed fairways with reachable greens.
TENNIS - There are lighted tennis courts for residents. A retaining wall between the 2 court levels has been designed for terraced seating for viewing tournaments or just watching friendly games. A permanent restroom facility is also at this site.
LODGE - The Lodge was one of the first common area buildings in Canyon Lake. POA offices,
banquet facilities, meeting rooms, and a restaurant are located here.

PARKS - Canyon Lake's newest park, Holiday Harbor (pictured left), is on 5 acres of land that overlooks the main lake. There are seven covered picnic areas with barbecues, a sand volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a sandy beach area, docking and launching facilities, grassy areas, and a large play area consisting of the latest technology in playground equipment. Canyon Lake has 7 parks and beaches for residents to enjoy. |
SWIMMING - The solar heated pool is backed up with a propane heater. 8 months of the year the temperature is maintained at a comfortable level. Lifeguards are on duty during the busy season. Swim lessons are offered, and dressing rooms and showers are located at the lower level of the lodge.
